2018 Reading Goals

Every year I make a reading goal for picture books and chapter books.  Some years I rock that goal, others I tank.

For 2018 I decided on two specific goals:

  1. Read 365 picture books, averaging one per day.  These will be new to me books, not re-reads.
  2. Twelve chapter books, averaging one per month.  These will be new to me as well, not re-reads.
Right before the new year, a co-worker and I were looking at the books on the new shelf and I went a little crazy.  So many cool books came out in 2017 and I want to read so many of them.  In order to reach goal #2, I made a list of books to read in 2018, instead of a vague goal of reading 12 books.

The choice books, in no particular order:
  1. Spirit Hunters by Ellen Oh
  2. Better Off Undead by James Preller
  3. Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
  4. Ahimsa by Supriya Kelkar
  5. We Are Party People by Leslie Margolis
  6. Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi
  7. The Whiz Mob and the Grenadine Kid by Colin Meloy
  8. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
  9. The Jane Austen Project by Kathleen Flynn
  10. American Panda by Gloria Chao
  11. Religion for Atheists by Alain De Botton
  12. TBD
No, I have not read The Hate U Give.  Bad librarian, but hey, I have a literal disease that is caused by stress.  Cut me some slack.
